Answer — Writing #6

Step 1: This sentence deals with parallel structure. There are three verbs used in the second part of the sentence that include: organize, meeting and satisfying. This is not a parallel structure. For this question you need to find an option where the verbs are all in the same form.

The manager’s direction for the project described how to organize the team, meeting the deadline, and satisfying the client.

Step 2: Process of elimination allows you to get rid of answer choice A because as stated above there is a grammatical error. Answer choices B and C add unnecessary articles and adjectives. Both also maintain the unparallel structure and cannot be right answers.

Answer: D. is correct because it drops the ing ending on meeting and satisfying making the sentence structure parallel.
